Spring Things
Though Spring is officially here in Nor Cal, it’s been more like winter. Just as I’d feared…as our amazing summer-like January and February were just a mean trick. (Though I enjoyed them immensely.)
I’ve been SO uninspired these past few weeks, as it’s been rainy and overcast almost every day. Okay, I basically fell off the wagon. Yes, I had some posts ready, but none of them were doing it for me. They are currently in a little place my friend calls “blog purgatory.”
Today, however, the skies are gloriously blue and I’m feeling an inkling of motivation back in my veins. (Could also be the caffeine from the mocha I’m sipping, but let’s say it’s inspiration.)
Just in case spring should decide to show itself, I am ready my friends. Here are a few springy things just waiting for their big debut.

Patio dishes. Yes, I jumped the gun on the patio dishes, as we currently have no patio, or picnic table. It was taking too long, so I bought the dishes. As part of the back yard landscaping budget, of course! Sigh. I’m a product of the microwave society we live in, I suppose.

Here’s the patio table and chairs we window-shopped from World Market. The cushions and umbrella will be a different color. My favorite is the bench because it reminds me of an old-school picnic table.

I’m currently staring out into our dirt yard, sprinkled with clods of mud and plastic, blue Home Depot flags stuck all in the ground. Also, a mutilated Barbie and a crack pipe that was excavated from the rebuilding of the retaining wall. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a more beautiful sight. Soon our little yard will be the Mike Brady Astro Turf lawn I’ve always envisioned it would be.
There will be more yard and patio updates to come. Mom and Dad are HERE! So I’m looking forward to flower-planting, garage-sale-ing, grilling out, coffee-sipping, sight-seeing, and checking some things off my home projects list.
Happy Spring!
