About

Hi, my name is Rachael.  My friends and family call me by my middle name, “Faye.”  Welcome to my blog about living life debt free! We have a crazy goal to be completely mortgage free some day.  I’m here at Frugal Faye blogging our journey.

A bit about me: I grew up in rural Kansas.  When I graduated from high school I moved to Atlanta, Georgia.  I attended college at Georgia State University, spent a year in service at a local ministry, and later worked as a bookkeeper.  Now I am a mom who lives in beautiful Northern California.  I started this blog on a whim one day when I made a gallery wall out of painted thrift store frames and wanted to share it with my friends.  I discovered that I like to write more than I thought!

Some facts about me?   Love: organizing, cloth diapering, and saving money.  Obsessed with: my budget spreadsheet, Ikea, fall boots, Christmas music, heavy whipping cream, checklists, and coffee.  Hero: Elizabeth Bennett.  Favorite foods: pizza (never met one I didn’t like), greek salad, grilled cheese, and Campbell’s tomato soup.  Favorite quote: any deep thought by Jack Handey.  Terrible with: cardinal directions, parallel parking, and reading maps.  Mad for thrift stores, though hate the smell.  Dearly love cinnamon.  (If someone could open a cinnamon-smelling thrift store…)  Can’t wait till ratted bangs and 80′s mall hair comes back in style, because facts are, I have the perfect hair texture for it!

If you have stumbled on to my blog, leave me a comment!  I love following and getting to know other bloggers!

Hello there… I am a Rachael too! :) Found your blog when researching Ikea media centers. I think I will follow it! I’m on the path to being debt free as well… though not as determined at times as I ought to be. Cheers!

Hi…Stumbled upon your blog when I searvhed for vinegar vs alcohol based homemade cleaners. Been using a vinegar based one I loved then switched to alcohol based just to try something new and I agree with you on your findings.

I am also several years into being debt free and always want to clean out and organize more!

So I just discovered your blog and love it! I’ve been eating organic/grass-fed/local for the last year or so and have joined a CSA, but I haven’t done much of the “natural” home/personal products so I am excited to read about what you have done. Hope you are doing well!
